1. Tung Anh Primary School – Lesson plan grade 2 – School 2021-2022 Date of teaching: April 5th 2022(2C) April 8th 2022(2D) UNIT 13: AT HOME Lesson 1 I. OBJECTIVES: 1. Knowledge, skills: - By the end of the lesson Ss will be able to correctly pronounce / ə(r)/ and the sound /n/ in isolation and in the words sister, brother, grandmother. - Develop Ss listening and speaking skills. 2. Competence development - Remember and say some new words sister, brother, grandmother. 3. Quality - Actively participate in activities with their classmates in pairs, groups or class. - Educate Ss to become studious and obedient students, love activities, love learning English. II. TEACHING AIDS 1. Teacher: - Board, chalk, textbooks, computer accessed to the Internet, TV, picture cards. 2. Students: - Books, notebooks, workbooks. III. PROCEDURES Teacher’s activities Student’s activities Activity 1: Warm up. - Have ss to look through 3 pictures( which is closed). Listen and repeat. - Have ss look at the picture and draw ss’ attention to the letter / ə(r)/ the words next to the things and the colour of the letter / ə(r)/. - Look at the picture and listen. - Ask ss to point to the letter / ə(r)/. Have them listen and repeat the sound of the letter / ə(r)/ - Point, listen and repeat. more than once, if necessary. - Tell ss to point to the village . Ask them to listen and repeat the word. - Ss repeat. -Repeat the same Procedure: with the words: sister, brother, grandmother. Give further - Ss listen and repeat. support to those ss who find it difficult to do the task. - Play the recording again and have them listen, point to the letter / ə(r)/ n and the sister, brother, grandmother and repeat until they feel - SS listen, point and repeat. confident. Activity 3 : Practice 2. Point and say. - Have ss look at the picture again and ask them to describe the picture again (in Vietnamese). Draw their attention to the letter / ə(r sister, brother, grandmother if necessary. - Look at the picture and discribe. - Get them to point to the letter / ə(r)/ and say it. - Give further support to those ss who find it difficult to do the task. - Point and say. - Follow the same Procedure: with other Teacher: Phan Thi Hang

Go around and offer help or correct pronunciation, if necessary. - Invite two or three ss to point to the picture - Work in pairs or in groups. and say the sound of the letter and the words in front of the class. - T gets feedback. Activity 4: Futher practice - Point and say. - Play game: What is it? - Have ss stand at one end of the classroom. - Stand in a middle of the classroom. Explain that when you hold up a flashcard, ss must take it turns to come forward and wishper the word to you. If the ss say the correct word, he/ she gets to go and stand on the other side of the classroom. If the ss answer incorrectly, - Ss look and listen. he/she must return to their orginal position and wait for another turn. - Ss play game. -When all ss are standing on the other side of the classroom, have them shout out the word. - Have time for ss to play game. Consolidation - Summary the lesson. - Ask some Ss to summary the lesson. Homework - Take notes. - Prepare for new lesson: Unit 15: Lesson 1 Teacher: Phan Thi Hang
